This year, Trân-Thi-Kim-Diêu’s programmes in Slovenia took place on the 24th and the 25th of October. The programmes were shared with Andrej Detela, a Slovenian scientist and writer, who was one of the outstanding speakers at the European Congress held in Paris in the summer of 2014. Instead of presenting the programmes in the format of lectures, another dynamic method was used: Trân-Thi-Kim-Diêu and Andrej Detela shared a discussion in front of the audience, giving also to listeners the possibility to participate with remarks and questions.
Participants arriving for the Ljubljana event
Both in Ljubljana on the 24th of October and in Celje on the 25th of October the themes of discussions were “Eastern Spiritual Traditions and Modern Science”. In Ljubljana the discussion took place at the Slovenian Ethnographic Museum and gathered some 50-60 participants.

The discussion was lively and covered many points: interlocutors talked about the challenges of the modern science and possibilities of scientists breaking the limits of authority, superficiality and economic dependence. The parallel between religions and modern science was drawn which in the end took the discussion to very deep and important questions about what is time, consciousness and the role of awareness. It was pointed out several times that without sincerity and integrity one has the tendency to lie to oneself and constantly cover it up.
In Celje, a day seminar took place in an intimate atmosphere at a local Theosophical Library which hosted Trân-Thi-Kim-Diêu’s visit for the second year. At the library there were some 25 people present who were active in asking questions and participating in the discussions. The interlocutors delved deeply into several subjects, such as holistic view of science and life, necessity and meaning of hierarchy in an organisation, democracy and social relations, the nature and purpose of meditation, etc.
Video recordings of both programmes in English will soon be available on the Vimeo channel of the European Federation of the TS (Adyar) at: https://vimeo.com/efts.
As discussions between Trân-Thi-Kim-Diêu and Andrej Detela were so well received it was agreed that next year the same scheme of programmes will be used to cover relevant subjects and share thoughts and ideas so much needed in the present day world.
