Mini-interviews Lipa Rath

The Society MI 8 Lipa Rath

  1. What’s your name, where are you from and how long have you been a member of the TS?

My name is Lipa Rath. I’m from Odisha, I’m a member of Debapi Lodge, Bhubaneswar. But I live in Gurgaon, on the outskirts of New Delhi, India. I have been a member since 2012.

  1. Are you active in your Lodge/Section and if so, what do you do?

Ans- No, I’m not really very active as I live in another city.

  1. How did you first learn about Theosophy or come in contact with the Society?

My grandfather, Dr. Ramchandra Rath was a pioneer in Theosophical studies and practices. I have known about TS ever since I was 3 years old. He would often talk about the ascended masters, the universal brotherhood of white light, the galaxies, stars, and life on other planets - which was fascinating to me.

  1. What does Theosophy mean to you?

It means a new way of looking at the different esoteric studies through ages, and how it has so much relevance to modern times. Its ancient knowledge spiraling up to bring understanding of a higher order and every individual is a part of the whole.

  1. What is your favorite Theosophical book and why?

I would say “Many Mansions” by Gina Cerminara. We were often chastised by the quotes and references from that book by our elders. Later it gave me an understanding about reincarnation and karmic laws and patterns, also the latent power that we have as human beings to change our destiny. It also gave me understand that we carry a lot of baggage and garbage from our past lives. Now I work as a QHHT® level-3 practitioner as a hypnotherapist, helping people with their current and past life journey.

  1. What in your opinion is the biggest challenge the TS is facing at the moment?

Unfortunately, I’m not an active TS member, as I don’t live in the same city. But if it can broaden not only to become intellectual in its approach but more practical. I would say if it becomes open to be “experiential”. For example, sometimes, in place of group meditation if you could perhaps have a group past life regression, then it can also be beneficial.

  1. Is there anything you would wish for the future of the Theosophical Movement?

I think the great brotherhood of light is helping all of humanity upon planet earth at this time of ascension of Mother Earth, Gaia or our Bhumi Devi. As we have more trust and faith, she will guide us. Thank you so much. Blessings and light.
