Mini-interviews Sharayu Sunil Wagdeo

The Society MI SSW 2

 1. What’s your name, where are you from and how long have you been a member of the TS?

My name is Sharayu Sunil Wagdeo . I'm from Maharashtra [India]. I have been a member of TS for 18 years.

2. Are you active in your Lodge/Section and if so, what do you do?

Yes I am an active member of Nagpur lodge Maharashtra. I was on the organizing committee of :

a. Nagpur summer camp in 2019 which was organized for youth and kids who are new to TS and it was attended by 54 kids and youth from the age of 5 to 15.

b. A Residential Camp at Amravati (Maharashtra) was organized, which was attended by 71 youths from the age group of 5 to 22 in May 2023 .

I have also played the character of Madame H.P. Blavatsky for a one-act play to make awareness about Theosophical Society in the Year 2019. And also played the same character in our drama ‘Legacy of Theosophy ‘at Marathi Theosophical Convention which was held at Nagpur in September 2022.

3. How did you first learn about Theosophy or come in contact with the Society?

I was born into the Theosophical family and was ever since with it, and wish to be with it for this lifetime.

4. What does Theosophy mean to you?

Theosophy for me means principles of living the life . It is divine wisdom provided directly by Masters to us. It is the methodology of brotherhood, loving and compassion for me.

5. What is your favorite Theosophical book and why?

I have read many books and all have been very knowledgeable but the book At the feet of Master by J. Krishnamurti is my personal favorite because it was the first book I read . For beginners like me it was easy to understand but it taught deep learnings and full of wisdom, that I held with me till date. If I were supposed to read it for a lifetime I would happily do that and would find new learning every single time .

6. What in your opinion is the biggest challenge the TS is facing at the moment?

I think the biggest challenge would be that theosophical wisdom is not reaching out to people the way it should. Expansion of lodges all across the globe and making a strong presence on social media or other platforms that will help us reach to people who are still in search of true wisdom would be a proper solution.

7. Is there anything you would wish for the future of the Theosophical Movement?

I hope more youth join us in the near future . It would really help to build stronger brotherhood and theosophical knowledge will be surpassed to upcoming generations.
