Editorial – The future of Theosophy and of all its vehicles is very promising!

Jan Nicolaas Kind – Brazil

Introduction:

The Society Editorial 2 Bill Gates
Bill Gates

Microsoft’s icon Bill Gates, when asked about his view regarding the developments on our planet earth in the year 2014, in connection with the world’s overall health situation said: “Of course, we can’t ignore the fact that it’s been a turbulent year, in the United States and many other countries. But it’s worth taking a moment to celebrate some of the good news too. More children are surviving than ever before. We’re making progress against some of the world’s deadliest diseases. These are some of the most fundamental ways to measure the world’s progress — and by that measure, 2014 was definitely another good year.”

In spite of the horrific news that reaches us daily from many parts in the world, the Middle-East, Africa, Eastern-Europe, Afghanistan and Pakistan in particular, if we would look more intensively and dig a little deeper, we notice that a culture of peace is emerging in all fields of human endeavor, although when one watches the new bulletins this conclusion might seem paradoxal.

I have a special “link” with the number seven, so let’s just take a quick look at seven pieces of good news I came across after some “digging”:

Two years ago I was approached by the Cape Town Adyar Lodge to be president, which I did for 9 months or so. Editorial – Am I in the Wrong Movie?

Am I in the Wrong Movie?

[… and some thoughts about internet trolls]

Jan Nicolaas Kind – Brazil

The Society Editorial 2 revised

If we consider carefully the options put before us / So much wisdom so much love so much waiting for us / And if we look ahead there's the sun and the seasons / Another day another age of reason” – from John Farnham’s “Age of Reasons”

For this impressive song, click here

By the end of a year, I tend to turn somewhat sentimental.

Another twelve months went by, offering many opportunities; I realize that perhaps only a handful came to realization. Yes, we are told never to look at what one doesn’t have, but to cherish that what you have in your hands, so I want to make use of this opportunity to thank all those wonderful and hardworking volunteers who have been loyal to Theosophy Forward, making this unique publication possible. Thanks to all, spread out over the planet: The United States (California, Kentucky, and Wheaton-Illinois), Brazil, Costa Rica, Slovenia, Italy, Portugal (Madeira Island), Spain, France, Holland, and India.

When I started off way back in 2009 with this e-magazine, I had no idea where the story would take me. We are five years on the road now and soon the sixth year will commence and there are great plans, quite sensational I must say, but at this stage I cannot reveal more than just that it will be another Theosophical leap forward!
