Theosophy and the Society in the Public Eye

A note from Joma Sipe in Portugal

Public Eye JS 1 b

I am more than happy to inform readers of Theosophy Forward about what I have been doing recently. Finished the Sri Yantra Series for the project started in November 2018, having made 43 small original Sri Yantras Mandalas, each with an individual design around the main symbol.

I began to read the Helena Roerich’s Leaves from Morya´s Garden and I am enjoying the connection with the poetry of the text, of which I was not aware, and I am finding out more about the Agni Yoga Organization.

Public Eye JH 2 About my Music

The author

Musical expression, for me so far, has been primarily instrumental although there are a few compositions containing vocals. Also, often there is a visual image associated with a composition which I try and render to some degree and include in my website. When asked what kind of music I write, I am sometimes at a loss as to what to say, other than “it is hard to describe,” or that the music is “instrumental,” neither of which does much to convey a clear idea, so I will make a more concerted effort here.

Photos by Richard Dvořák

Richard says:

I took the photos during the last night of a two week stay in the Orocopia Mountains in southern California, United States, east of the Coachella Valley. It is a sacred place in the outskirts of the Sonoran Desert, 5 miles on a dirt road west of the Highway I10, across from the Joshua Tree National park.

Faces of Light

David Grossman – USA

“Every picture tells a story.” It is often said, and when it concerns David’s photos, it is certainly true.

He writes:

“As the flame from one candle ignites the flame of numerous other candles and isn’t diminished, and just as plants turn toward the sunlight for sustenance and life, so we as self-conscious beings, each in our own way, reach toward Wisdom, the Highest, what we often call God, Essence, Truth, Source, Allah, Elohim, Brahman, etc. We too are Children of Light.”

Public Eye JS 2 Joma Sipe with Circuits Series

Joma the artist with Circuit Series

I am more than happy to inform readers of Theosophy Forwardabout what I have been doing over the past three months. I began doing a series of works based on the Sri Yantra Diagram, one of the ancient Geometrical Symbols used on Hindu Rituals to the Goddess Maha Lakshmi Lalita Tripura Sundari, along with Mantras and paintings of this Deity. One of the Yantras used refers to the Divine Mother. I plan to make at least 43, that is the number of the triangles of this Yantra. All this will be added to my website and Facebook page when I am done with the work. The series of Sri Yantra Manifestations will be on sale for Christmas, 2018.

The artist

Kate is a wonderful young woman from Oklahoma, who for some years now helps out with the publications of Theosophy Forward, both as an installer and assistant-editor. She is creative, very talented and we are fortunate that she is willing to make some of her art work available for our readers in this, and upcoming issues.

She works with the realm of the elementals, which should be familiar to Theosophists. Each of her creations are a surrealist-interpretation of her dialogue with the astral realms. Since a very early age she has been fascinated with the outer-edges of reality; the places where dream, imagination and vision combine. While her creations might be haunting to some viewers, this is only because they force a person to confront the very deep and powerful magic of their own minds. She aims to make visual  the "unseen" (i.e. occult) in everyday life. The panels come with an explanation by Kate.
