Joma the artist, smiling all over
Joma says:
“I don't care about the garment that covers the body, but the mantle of Stars that surrounds the Soul.”
+++++++
Following the series of works I started doing with the Christ Energy and Light, I now share the third piece I did this year. It is called STILLA SANGUINIS CHRISTUS (A Drop of The Blood of Christ). It is not a very large panel, like the first and second one, as it is approx. 50x30cm, visible size, having a golden frame with 60x40cm size, all done with gold-based ink pens and crystals. When I am doing these artworks I have no idea in mind, and simply concentrate on the Christ Energy and the drawing flows naturally. When I have nothing more to draw, the work is finished.
The one I described above was inspired by the Adoro te devot, a Eucharistic hymn written by Thomas Aquinas. It is one of the five Eucharistic hymns which were composed and set to music for the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, instituted in 1264 by Pope Urban IV:
Latin version:
Pie Pelicane, Jesu Domine,
Me immundum munda tuo Sanguine:
Cujus una stilla salvum facere
Totum mundum quit ab omni scelere.
English Translation:
Lord Jesus, Good Pelican,
clean me, the unclean, with Your Blood,
One drop of which can heal
the entire world of all iniquity.
I share both the original and illuminated work.
I also created the May cover of the wonderful publication from Adyar, The Theosophist with my Isis Unveiled XVIII (i.e.the Illuminated Version), having the following text as inspiration:
Having acquainted himself with its mysterious contents, which revealed to him the mysteries of creation, the initiated became a builder himself, for he was made acquainted with the dodecahedron, or the geometrical figure on which the universe was built. To what he had learned in previous initiations of the use of the rule and of architectural principles was added a cross, the perpendicular and horizontal lines of which were supposed to form the foundation of the spiritual temple, by placing them across the junction, or central primordial point, the element of all existences (Pythagoras), representing the first concrete idea of deity. Henceforth he could, as a Master-builder (see 1 Corinthians, iii. 10), erect a temple of wisdom on that rock of Petra, for himself; and having laid a sure foundation, let “another build thereon. * Pythagoras.
