1. What’s your name, where are you from and how long have you been a member of the TS?
Armand, Alexey Davidovich. Moscow, Russia, member of the Theosophical Society since 2000.
2. Are you active in your Lodge/Section and if so, what do you do?
I am a member of the Lodge “Anakhata.” I organized and led Theosophical lectures and adiscussions club for about ten years. Nowadays, I am a pensioner, I am an artist. I arrange the exhibitions of my drawings according to the theme “Living Planet.” I also support some initiatives of young members of the TS.
3. How did you first learn about Theosophy or come in contact with the Society?
I learned about Theosophy in 1942 from my parents (I was eleven years old). They told me about the necessity of overcoming the contradiction between science and religion. They said that Theosophy can make this possible. I was also under a great impression having met with Juli Juliyevich Louriet in 1944 in Moscow. I visited him together with my parents having returned from evacuation.
4. What does Theosophy mean to you?
Theosophy is the basis of my mindset.
5. What is your favorite Theosophical book and why?
From the Caves and the Jungles of Hindostan, by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky
6. What in your opinion is the biggest challenge the TS is facing at the moment?
Members of the Theosophical Movement must come together, in spite of their apparent different points of view
7. Is there anything you would wish for the future of the Theosophical Movement?
I wish that the Theosophical Movement will remain a major factor among other philosophical conceptions.
