  2. 1. What’s your name, where are you from and how long have you been a member of the TS?

Gloria Arévalo de Gauggel, I am from Colombia, but I live in Honduras now for 17 years.

I have been a member of the TS in both countries: from 1974 to 1989 in Colombia and then since 2003 to present in Honduras.

  1. 2. Are you active in your Lodge/Section and if so, what do you do?

Yes, I am. I am the coordinator of the Harmony Study Group at the Zamorano University since 2003.

I am working with university students, who are very inquisitive and active. They have found a lot of answers to their questions through Theosophy that just science alone does not give to them.

  1. 3. How did you first learn about Theosophy or come in contact with the Society?

I was born within a Theosophical family, both my parents, Manuel Arevalo and Fredes Valderrama were and Fredes still is a very active member of the TS in Bogota, Colombia, despite the fact that Fredes is 86 years old. They were arduous seekers of the truth that they found in the TS.

  1. 4. What does Theosophy mean to you?

Theosophy means the explanation of the entire universe. It moves me to inquire more on the nature of all things and appreciate their perfect order. But most of all it shows me the way to the Unity and solidarity of human kind and all other beings in the universe.

  1. 5. What is your favourite Theosophical book and why?

The Mahatma Letters to A.P. Sinnett, because they are a comprehensive explanation of all that is seen and unseen.

  1. 6. What in your opinion is the biggest challenge the TS Adyar (as an organization) is facing at the moment?

I consider that the greatest challenge for Adyar is to keep the Unity among Theosophists around the world, unifying the Theosophical principles in such a diversity of cultures and traditions.

  1. 7. Is there anything you would wish for the future of the Theosophical Movement?

Unity and respect among Theosophists.
