  2. 1. What’s your name, where are you from and how long have you been a member of the TS?

My name is Hans van Aurich. I am a member of the Theosophical Society (Adyar) since 1985. At the same time I became member of the The Hague Lodge of the Dutch Section.

 2. Are you active in your Lodge/Section and if so, what do you do?

Until recently I was Vice Chairman of the Dutch Section. Now am I the treasurer of the Theosophy Foundation (Theosofia Stichting) at The Hague. This foundation is the owner of the LodgeBuilding at The Hague. The ground floor is the place where the The Hague Lodge has its meetings. The first floor is the territory of two co-masonry lodges. The second floor has a big library and two meeting rooms especially for the Esoteric Section of the TS. The third floor is rented to the White Eagle Lodge.
I am also the Chairman of the PCM Foundation (P.C. Meuleman Stichting) which is the owner of the Headquarters Building of the Dutch Section of the Theosophical Society in Amsterdam. You can find pictures and more information on www.theosofie.nl

  1. 3. How did you first learn about Theosophy or come in contact with the Society?

My first contact with Theosophy was in the beginning of the eighties of the 20thcentury. I attended a course on The Secret Doctrine. The teacher was Mrs Nan Meijer who translated various Theosophical books into the Dutch language.

  1. 4. What does Theosophy mean to you?

  2. Theosophy is a way of living, a path to self-knowledge, to develop yourself.

  1. 5. What is your favourite Theosophical book and why?

  2. My favourite book is At the feet of the Master. It gives the premises for living Theosophy.

  1. 6. What in your opinion is the biggest challenge the TS Adyar (as an organization) is facing at the moment?

The biggest challenge of the TS-Adyar is to rejuvenate the Society, to make it attractive again in the modern world.

  1. 7. Is there anything you would wish for the future of the Theosophical Movement?

  2. Talking about Universal Brotherhood is not enough: breathe it, live it, be it.

Study of comparative religion, philosophy and science is not limited to the books of H. P. B. and other important Theosophists: do what H. P. B. did, study as much esoteric literature as you can and find the way to yourself.
