Those who swear that true Theosophy, or Truth in that respect, is only to be acquired through reading core literature should very carefully rethink the word CORE.
Look at the core of an apple for example, what is to be found there, and in the core of many other fruits? Yes, seeds, and what happens when those seeds are planted elsewhere? Yes, in case of the apple core, ultimately other apple trees will appear.
A thought:
Some want to make sure that the apple still has the characteristics of the initial apple tree. That metaphorical “original or number 1 ” tree, if there ever were one, according to them, compares with the 1875 impulse given by the Masters. All the apples that came forth from that tree, need to be carefully examined to make sure that the apples are pure and not affected by degeneration. Therefore, they reason, core teachings are a must.
Obviously those most distinguished, first generation authors had something significant to share, but have those who only study core literature forgotten that even the apple Swabhava is expressed in different varieties: red, green, yellow, variegated, sweet, tart, large, small, etc……… and yet they are all apples.
