1. What’s your name, where are you from and how long have you been a member of the TS?
My name is Qian Su and I am originally from China. I have been in the United States of America for over 17 years. I have been a member of the TS for little over a year, but in my soul probably a lot longer.
2. Are you active in your Lodge/Section and if so, what do you do?
Yes I am active in my section, I attend the dharma study center, YATA (young adult theosophists in America) and I also volunteer at the national headquarters in Wheaton Illinois.
3. How did you first learn about Theosophy or come in contact with the Society?
I was introduced by my first theosophical friend who guided and showed me the door of the wisdom, and I was invited to a study group which really connected me to the society.
4. What does Theosophy mean to you?
Theosophy is A path for people who have been searching for the Truth of spirituality.
5. What is your favorite Theosophical book and why?
At the feet of Master by Jiddu Krishnamurti was my first and also my favorite Theosophical book. It is my favorite because it was written in such a simple way that is easy to understand, yet the teachings are deep and full of wisdom. It’s a book that I can read for a lifetime and still never stop learning from it.
6.What in your opinion is the biggest challenge the TS is facing at the moment?
I think the biggest challenge the TS is facing at the moment is making sure that the next generation of theosophists goes beyond the knowledge and information, and is able to convert the teachings into a living wisdom and not just more data in the brain. There seems also to be a challenge with Theosophy appealing to young people in this modern world but there is hope in the youth movements such as the WFYT.
7.Is there anything you would wish for the future of the Theosophical Movement?
If I had one wish for the future of the Theosophical movement it would be to see Theosophy reach young people and even children at a level pertinent to their needs and level of development. |
