Dear Helma smiling, all in Orange, with her proud decoration
Helma Kuit, Michiel Haas’s wife, on April 27, was decorated by the Mayor of “Gooise Meren”, on behalf of Dutch King Willem Alexander. She became a member of the Order of Oranje Nassau.
The Order of Orange-Nassau has existed since April 4, 1892. Persons who have made a particularly deserving contribution to society are eligible for an award in this order. This includes volunteers who are committed to young people, the environment, (informal) care, sports, neighborhood associations or refugees.
Someone who delivers special achievements in her or his work and thus distinguishes from fellow professionals, can also be appointed to this order.
All the others who were also decorated, Helma ,third from the left
Helma, next to her other activities, is also a dedicated worker for Theosophy, very much actively working for the International Theosophical Centre in Naarden.
By unconditionally, and at times battling some of her health issues, she reinforced Michiel’s work for the renovation projects at Adyar. Helma, selflessly, gave Michiel all the encouragement he needed, and the results are visible at the headquarters of the Theosophical Society in Adyar.
Great folk, from left to right, Michiel Haas, Helma Kuit and the honorable Mayor of Gooise Meren
Congratulations Helma, you deserved this recognition by the Dutch King.
You and Michiel, gave so much, setting clear examples for others..
