What’s your name, where are you from and how long have you been a member of the TS?
My name is Enrico Sempi, and I live in Novara, Italy. In 1981 I joined the Italian Theosophical Society, and on 3rd June 2016 I became an honorary member.
- Are you active in your Lodge/Section and if so, what do you do?
Since 2003 I have been president of the Fondazione (Foundation) Bernardino del Boca, which is dedicated to this important Theosophist, anthropologist, writer, and artist, who passed beyond the veil in 2001. As a foundation, we organize meetings and conventions related to his work and thought, readings of his books, exhibitions of his works of art, and we collect oral statements from people who had met him. We republish his out of print books and publish the latest studies done on him.
For the last 3 years we have been organizing an experiential theosophical summer camp for middle school pupils (11 to 13 year old) at Villaggio Verde, the community that he set up.
Since 1995 I have been art director of the Rivista Teosofica Italiana (Italian Theosophy magazine) and all the other publications.
- How did you first learn about Theosophy or come in contact with the Society?
I approached Theosophy in 1971 when I began to follow prof. Bernardino del Boca’s theosophical lessons.
- What does Theosophy mean to you?
Theosophy is a way of life for me.
- What is your favorite Theosophical book and why?
My favorite book is Singapore-Milano-Kano by prof. Bernardino del Boca because every time I reread it, I discover new ways of being.
- What in your opinion is the biggest challenge the TS is facing at the moment?
I think that the Theosophical Society should seek to elevate beauty and set up schools for boys and girls.
- Is there anything you would wish for the future of the Theosophical Movement?
I hope it will be possible to translate Theosophical teachings into a more modern and current idiom as Madame Blavatsky had already done back in her day, in her book The Key of Theosophy.
